Do you know how to market and promote your business? A picture is worth a thousand words. This is a well known but very true statement. Performing a search on Pinterest with the keywords ‘Barbados Country’ , showed the following (these are only a few of them that I have embedded from Pinterest, actually 3 out of the 12 results):

The two latter pictures are  from Island-Villas and Loop Barbados while the first is from a user named ‘Cal ’ showcasing Sandy Lane Country Club. If you click on these pictures, they will take you to the Pinterest site.

The Independence and Christmas holiday seasons are soon upon us in Barbados. Why not showcase your products on Pinterest? With the right keywords for your image, you can only imagine how many potential sales you can make when some one searches for a particular item. If you have some  fantastic high quality images, I guarantee they will be shared. The more they are shared, the more people will know about you or your business.

I am typing in the search engine again but this time I am typing ‘Barbados Hotels’. Below I have embedded into this post a few of the results:

From the perspective of tourists, their mindset can be positively swayed after viewing the dynamic photo representation of the hotels. The first two pictures shown above are from Sandy Lane. The latter is from Bridal Guide showcasing a picture of one of the hotels from the Elegant Hotels Group Barbados .  Other hotels may have lost  an opportunity in catering for these customers because  there is limited competition here on Pinterest for ‘Barbados Hotels’.

Pinterest would be useful for Barbadian artists, caterers, wedding organizers, photographers etc. Beware if you are not comfortable with your pictures being shared, then this social image sharing site is not for you. The more people that share your images, the more they are seen by others in Barbados and worldwide.

Pinterest was only launched as a closed beta in 2010 , according to Wikipedia 2012. In 2010, Pinterest had 10,000 users and in early 2012 had over a million users . It has become so popular that Pinterest has recently decided to give users an opportunity to setup a business page.
